"Rejuvenate and Restore: Yoga for Caregivers of Cancer Survivors"
The Yoga session was conducted and was attended by around 40+ caregivers. The session was focused on relieving stress and promoting relaxation among the caregivers. We started the session with a warm-up, followed by different Yoga poses that aimed to reduce stress and tension in the body. The caregivers found the session to be very helpful in reducing their stress levels, and many of them expressed interest in attending such sessions regularly.
yoga poses and breathing exercises. The caregivers were guided through a series of gentle stretches, such as child’s pose, cat-cow pose, and seated forward fold, to release tension in the body.
Next, we introduced relaxation techniques, including guided meditation and deep breathing exercises. The caregivers were encouraged to focus on their breath, letting go of any negative thoughts or worries, and finding a sense of calm and inner peace. Throughout the session, we emphasized the importance of self-care and reminded the caregivers to listen to their bodies and honor their own needs. We encouraged them to practice yoga regularly, even if it’s for a few minutes each day, to help manage their stress levels and promote overall well-being.
The feedback from the caregivers was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed feeling more relaxed, rejuvenated, and better equipped to handle the challenges of their caregiving role. They appreciated having a dedicated space and time to focus on themselves and their own well-being.
